Font utilities, custom scripts and tools

FontTester is an interactive tool for testing and previewing typefaces before buying them. FontTester works also with special characters ($, ¥, %, æ, etc.) as well as characters with diacritics (á, å, à, ä, â, ã, etc.) In addition to rendering text in a desired font, FontTester can be used as an informal chatbox. Any text you type into it is stored in the background, and displayed when the next user opens up the page.

PDF Font Tester is another application for testing Typotheque fonts. You can create your own sample of fonts online, choosing any of the available fonts, sizes and colours, and create a PDF sample with the fonts rasterised at 300 dpi, which you can download and print on your own printer.

LetterMeter is designed for comparing multilingual texts and measuring the frequency of specific glyphs. Because it is unicode based, it will recognize Latin, Greek and Cyrillic glyphs, and sort them according to their formal attributes.

DanceWriter converts text into simple dance moves. Create your own choreography by typing a message. You can also share it with your friends, and send them your animated emails.

VOLT interpolator is a simple script that interpolates VOLT (Visual OpenType Layout Tool) output data. You can load two master text files, input an interpolation value, and generate an interpolated result.

AccentKernMaker (akm 2.1), a PERL script for generating accented kerning pairs based on existing kerning information, has been discontinued. FontLab 4.5 (and higher) is now capable of performing exactly the same task with greater precision.
