Bram De Does: Kaba Ornament

Late Dutch typographer and type designer Bram de Does has conducted 30 year long, sketch based, research into the seemingly endless combinations of patterns, ornaments, and borders. De Does designed a single abstract asymmetric form (and its mirror version) which allow building complex structures. Accompanied by De Does’ written notes this book documents the methods of construction of abstract ornaments and original sketches. ‘Kaba', is an Arabic for cube.
