Felix van Sambix (1553, Antwerp – Delft, 1642) was one of the finest writing masters and calligraphers of the Dutch Republic. He gained respect and admiration for his manuscripts and engavings, which are extremely hard to find today. After 50 years of research, author Ton Croiset van Uchelen, former chief curator of the Amsterdam University Library, was able to trace over 200 sheets with specimens Van Sambix work. This books presents them in full size.
The first, and until now the only, book exploring in-depth Tibetan type and typography. This book presents research regarding the origin, development, and typographical function of letter types in Tibetan writing, from their beginnings in 1738 to the present.
