Kaba Mandala

by Marina Chaccur and Thomas Gravemaker

The Kaba Mandala is a limited edition collection of prints with the Kaba ornament developed by the late Dutch typographer and type designer Bram de Does. De Does designed a single abstract form (and its mirror version) which allow building complex patterns. The folder containing a set of eight prints is designed and letterpress-printed by Marina Chaccur and Thomas Gravemaker. Four identical blocks, with a diagonal symmetry, are set together to form a circle/ mandala, and then rotated to compose the other seven shapes. The prints can also be trimmed to a square format to be framed. Frame not included.
