Oli Grotesk is an affable, high-performance typeface family informed by the industrial aesthetics of mechanical writing tools. Although the neo-grotesque genre tends toward cold, neutral typefaces, Oli’s charming details glow with unreserved personality at large and small sizes alike, injecting a strong visual character into the text.
A pan-Indian font
Oli has ambitious plans to support all the writing scripts of India (Devanagari, Bangla, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Urdu, Oriya, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada) in the same wide range of weights as its Latin fonts, making it a truly unprecedented typeface project. The first expansion, Oli Grotesk Devanagari, is coming in 2020, and other scripts will follow. The Indic versions of Oli are being designed by Arya Purohit.
Symbols & Arrows
Oli includes a collection of signs, symbols, icons, and arrows.
Oli includes alternate glyphs, that can be controlled via the OpenType stylistic sets.
All weights of Oli include ten different kinds of numerals. Proportional Lining figures come as default figures in Oli. It also, however, includes Old-style figures, Tabular numerals (both lining and OsF), Small Caps numerals, superior, inferior, circled and circled inverted numerals (selectable via OpenType features).
