Design Concept
Zico is a large typeface family inspired by sports aesthetics, available in a beefy Slab-Serif version and a corresponding Display version, slightly square-ish humanist Sans, and a narrower Sans Condensed. Zico is compemented by the Hebrew version of Slab, Sans, and Display. Unlike the original Zico Slab, which is inspired by the letterforms typically used in sport jerseys, Zico Sans is a versatile Sans Serif family with wider applications in mind. By dropping the robust serifs, Zico becomes a natural high-performance typeface with low contrast and plenty of optical compensations that make even the darkest weights work at small sizes. Since the basic proportions are rather wide, Zico Sans also includes a Condensed version, for situations where space-saving typography is required. Combined, they offer complete typographic palette for the most demanding designers. Read more about development of Zico▸
OpenType features
Like all Typotheque fonts, Zico Sans includes Small Caps in all styles. Additionally, Zico Sans includes a wealth of other advanced OpenType features. For more information please see the PDF instructions, or the Features section.
Numerals
All weights of Zico Sans include ten different kinds of numerals. Proportional Old-style figures come as default figures in Zico Sans. It also, however, includes Lining figures, Tabular numerals (both lining and OsF), Small Caps numerals, superior, inferior, circled and circled inverted numerals (selectable via OpenType features).
