Eilendenrijk, or Empire of
Islands was an exhibition on art
in The Hague. Stroom Den Haag set
out on a quest for the cultural
soul of The Hague, presenting
the city’s true atmosphere and
character through the eyes of
both its well-known and its
unsung artistic heroes. The art
scene of The Hague is often
described as a conglomerate of
separate entities. The curator’s
idea of building individual rooms
for each artist was modified by
Typotheque into an open structure
where each artist is separate
from the rest, but at the same
time connected to the whole. Curated by Gerrit Jan de Rook
