Kana is the Japanese syllabic writing system consisting of two modern parallel syllabaries— Hiragana (used for words of Japanese origin), and Katakana (used for phonetically spelling out foreign words). The Kana system allows a very accurate representation of spoken Japanese. Both Hiragana and Katakana contain 46 characters, but serving different purposes and differ stylistically.

This book is a celebration of cultural diversity, as well as a presentation of the Typotheque typeface collection, both current and upcoming fonts.
