Modern Serif Fonts
The best examples of Modern types came from the hands of Giambattista Bodoni (1740–1813) and the Didot family. Today, the category includes other type styles that depart from the traditional humanist models with larger x-height, fairly consistent width of letters, extreme contrast between thick and thin strokes and usually unbracketed serifs connecting to the stems without a curve.
