Serif

Serif typefaces are often also referred to as roman typefaces, or Antiqua, as the origin of the serif can be traced to Roman inscriptional lettering. Since the serif typefaces are older than the slab or sans typefaces, they are often seen as more traditional and reliable. Serif fonts can be broadly classified into three subcategories:
